#2 insulated copper 40% consists of copper wire where approximately 40% of the original insulation remains on the conductor. This grade often includes wires that are partially stripped, damaged, or have degraded insulation. While less clean than higher grades, #2 insulated copper 40% is still valuable for recycling, as it contains a significant amount of copper that can be recovered through processing.
