#2 Insulated Copper 50%
#2 Insulated Copper 50%
#2 insulated copper 50% refers to copper wire or cable with partially intact insulation, where approximately half of the insulation remains on the copper conductor. This grade typically includes wires that have been stripped, damaged, or have worn insulation but still retain a significant amount of copper and some insulation material. It’s commonly recycled to recover the valuable copper content, though it requires more processing compared to #1 insulated copper.
