Misc. Unprepared Metal

Miscellaneous Unprepared (Misc. Unprepared) refers to a mixed category of scrap metal that hasn’t been processed or cut down to standard sizes for recycling.

This can include a wide variety of metal items—such as household appliances, machinery parts, heavy farm equipment, shelving, piping, or odd-shaped steel pieces—that are often oversized, dirty, or still contain non-metal components like plastic, rubber, or insulation. Visually, this type of scrap appears irregular, bulky, and sometimes tangled, often showing signs of wear, rust, or leftover materials. It requires sorting and cutting before it can be melted down or properly recycled.
